SERVICE: PILE INTEGRITY TESTING
Thermal Integrity Profiling (TIP) is a non-destructive testing method used to evaluate the post-construction quality of cast-in-place concrete foundations, including bored piles, CFA piles, drilled shafts, slurry walls, and soil nails.
Undetected foundation defects can lead to costly remediation and, in severe cases, structural failure. TIP provides high-confidence quality assurance at a cost that is negligible relative to overall construction expenditure.
CMR Tech have developed a comprehensive, wholistic service streamlining the process for expedited reporting.

How It Works
Thermal Wire® cables are attached longitudinally to the reinforcing cage prior to concrete placement. As the concrete cures, the heat generated by cement hydration is measured along the full length and cross-section of the element. Variations in temperature indicate changes in cross-sectional geometry, concrete quality, or cage alignment — allowing anomalies to be identified and assessed before they become costly problems.
What It Detects
TIP analysis can identify cage misalignment, over-pour bulges, necking, areas of deficient cement content, and reduced concrete cover. Both 2D cross-sectional and full 3D shaft visualisations can be generated for comprehensive reporting.
Our Service
CMR Tech manages the full TIP process — from custom Thermal Wire® fabrication and installation through to data collection via cloud-based monitoring and final reporting. With over 1,000 TIP tests completed across major Western Australian infrastructure projects, we have the experience and capability to deliver accurate, timely results on projects of any scale
